VOLUNTEERS

Volunteer Services recruits, trains and places volunteers throughout the hospital.

If you are interested in volunteering at Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial, please call our Volunteer Coordinator at (231) 924-1350 or fill out the on-line Application (below).

  • Volunteers help in most departments.
  • Volunteers work on nursing floors helping patients and running errands for nursing staff.
  • Volunteers deliver flowers and cards to patients' rooms.
  • Volunteers staff the hospital Gift Shop and Coffee Shop
  • Volunteer “Ambassadors” help Emergency Room patients’ families as they wait for their loved-ones treatment to be completed
  • Volunteer “Navigators” help patients and visitors to their way around the hospital and to patient rooms.
  • Volunteer “Valets” will park your car for FREE

Funds raised through purchases in the Gift Shop and Coffee Shop allow the Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop (HAGS) members to provide equipment for various hospital departments annually. (Pictured are members of the HAGS with wheelchairs purchased for hospital patients from Gift and Coffee Shop funds.)
